Padangbai Beach Bali is a small town in eastern Bali, Indonesia. It serves as a ferry port for travel to Lombok, The Gilis and other of the Lesser Sunda Islands. It is also a lovely beach town that is popular with those who prefer a small town atmosphere over the large scale beach party that is Kuta.
Besides the beach near the ferry terminal there is a beach just to the north known locally as the Blue Lagoon and the especially nice Secret Beach just to the south of town. These pleasant beaches have clusters of small family owned warungs that will be glad to prepare a meal and serve beer.
Padangbai has two other good beaches close by. The first, "Blue Lagoon", is accessed by heading to the far left of the main beach and hiking 10 minutes up and over the hill, dropping down onto a white sand beach with a couple of warungs. so visitors are fond of it and spend their time there by swimming and sun bathing. This part of the beach is also best place for diving or snorkeling, you might want to hire a boat to take you snorkeling for safety, due to its amazing underwater panorama and colorful decorative fish. The second beach, "Biastugal" is also called Pantai Kecil (small beach), and is located on the other side of the ferry terminal. You can't see it from the main beach, and the only way I knew it was there, was by taking the ferry to Lombok, looking back and seeing it.
Padangbai beach with its beautiful setting, small, un-spoilt village feel, it must qualify as one of the most attractive port towns in the world. It has excellent Hotels, resort,losmen (accommodation) & food options and is well worth spending a few days here. Longer if you use it as a base to visit sights in East Bali. Map Of Bali
